Understanding Our Fees
We believe in transparency when it comes to fees and billing. Dr Bakhit’s practice provides clear information about costs so you can plan your healthcare with confidence.
Fees may vary depending on the complexity of care required. Our reception team is available to discuss fees specific to your situation before your appointment, so there are no surprises.
Important Information
Fees are subject to change. The information on this page is a general guide only. For a personalised fee estimate or to discuss costs for your specific situation, please contact our rooms on (02) 9824 3991. We recommend confirming fees at the time of booking.
Consultation Fees
Dr Bakhit offers initial specialist consultations and follow-up appointments for obstetric and gynaecological care. Medicare rebates apply when you have a valid GP referral. A gap payment may apply, which is the difference between Dr Bakhit’s fee and the Medicare rebate amount.
Our reception team can provide current fee information when you book your appointment. Please visit our Consultations page for details on what to expect at your appointment.
Obstetric Care Fees
Obstetric fees are typically structured as a package covering antenatal care, delivery attendance, and postnatal follow-up. The total fee depends on the type of delivery and the level of care required throughout your pregnancy.
Medicare rebates apply to many components of obstetric care. If you have private health insurance with hospital cover, your fund may also contribute to hospital and some specialist fees. We recommend discussing the full obstetric fee schedule during your initial pregnancy care consultation.
Surgical and Procedure Fees
Fees for surgical procedures and endoscopic procedures vary based on the type and complexity of the procedure, as well as hospital and anaesthetic requirements. Medicare rebates apply to most procedures.
Private health insurance may cover hospital accommodation and some specialist fees depending on your level of cover. Dr Bakhit’s team will provide a detailed fee estimate before any procedure so you can plan accordingly.
Payment Options
Medicare
A valid GP referral is required to access Medicare rebates. Rebates apply to most consultations and procedures. Where possible, Medicare claims are lodged on your behalf at the time of your appointment.
Private Health Insurance
If you have private health insurance, please check your level of cover before your appointment. Hospital cover is recommended for any procedures requiring hospital admission. Some funds offer gap cover schemes that may reduce your out-of-pocket costs.
Payment Methods
We accept EFTPOS, credit card, and cash. Payment is required at the time of consultation unless alternative arrangements have been made in advance.
Health Care Card Holders
If you hold a Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, please mention this at the time of booking so we can discuss available options.
